Information for employers and mentors
We recognise that the new Chartered Accountants Program will impact you as an employer or mentor of NZICA members. We we will work with you so you can put appropriate plans in place to minimise these impacts.
The Chartered Accountants Program will provide graduates with applied technical skills due to the increased practical and professional emphasis. This may reduce the time you need to put into your own staff training programmes.
If your student is a new employee who has not yet registered as a provisional member please refer them to the transitional arrangements (PDF, 78KB). This is particularly important for employees who need to complete the Foundations programme as some of the pre-requisite requirements for entry to that programme have changed.
We have created some information for employers to answer questions you may be receiving from students:
The Chartered Accountants Program employer video
The below video has been designed to give employers essential information on the Chartered Accountants Program. If you have any further questions after watching this video and using the above information please contact us on caprogram@nzica.com.
Mentors
The practical experience requirements for membership will not change at this stage. Please continue to refer to the current mentor guidelines in the interim.
