Wairarapa Presidential Dinner 2012
This year NZICA Wairarapa has had the opportunity to celebrate three members receiving awards from both different ends of the spectrum, from New Members to retired 50 Year Members and Fellowships.
We celebrated these members at the Presidential and Fellowship Dinner held at The White Swan in Greytown on 1st August. The night started with pre dinner drinks and canapés in the bar, followed by a superb three course meal in the dining room, with entertainment by solo artist Hannah McGrail throughout the night.
Both NZICA President Richard Austin FCA and Chief Executive Terry McLaughlin FCA were in attendance, along with Charlene Peters, Central Region Manager and many of the new Wairarapa Leadership Team. It was great to see a good turnout of local members, and even members coming from out of town, to celebrate the achievement of our members.
We would like to take this opportunity to again congratulate our member’s achievements.
Frank Owen FCA was presented with his fellowship (for the second time!), Dinu Harry (past President of NZICA) having known Frank for some time made the journey from Auckland to the tiny rural Greytown to support Frank and give a speech prior to Frank receiving his award.
Kathrine Way CA a New Member this year, originally from Wainuiomata, was also presented with her award. Syd Morgan FCA kindly read Kathrine’s biography.
This year we were also lucky enough to have a 50 year member receiving his award, Maurice Henderson CA. Maurice was presented with his award by Richard Austin FCA and Charlene Peters earlier in the day at his house with family members in attendance as he was unable to attend to event. Maurice did send his apologies along with a letter to be read to the guests congratulating Frank and Kathrine on the tremendous achievements and wishing them well for their futures.
The night ended on a good note with many of our out of town guests staying over night at The White Swan.
